Founder and CEO, Ross Owen established Alphabyte IT 15 years ago after a career in IT working for large law firms in Cardiff. Being spurred on by a desire to provide an honest, trustworthy IT service, backed with excellent customer service, he founded Alphabyte IT to become a leading Managed Service Provider (MSP) in South Wales.
Ever since those early days we have continued to expand to meet an increasing demand for our services and now are the chosen trusted technology partner for businesses from a diverse range of sectors throughout the UK. Integral to all that we do is trust because that is the main consideration when starting any rewarding relationship.

PERSONNEL
The Team
Ross Owen
Managing Director
Ross is the owner and MD at Alphabyte IT. He set the business up back in 2009 to provide a reliable, honest and professional IT service to local businesses, backed with excellent customer service.
Ross manages the business day-to-day and focuses on continued managed growth and adaptation to changes within the industry. Outside of work Ross spends his time with his three young children and enjoys photography, travel and keeping (relatively) fit.
Andrew Pain
Technical Lead
Andrew is Alphabyte’s longest standing member of staff and has been with us an incredible twelve years. He first started working in the IT field back in 1998, and during that time he’s seen and adapted to all sorts of changes in the industry. Andrew consistently recommends and implements IT solutions that put clients businesses in the best position.
As well as technical implementation, Andrew is a mentor and technical lead for the tech team here and communicates recommendations and changes to clients.
Our customers love Andrew’s attention to detail and ability to find the right solution for them.
Outside of work Andrew is a dedicated family man with two young children and enjoys his hobby as an amateur model rocket builder!
Michael Baynham
IT Consultant
Michael is a senior IT consultant at Alphabyte IT and has a wealth of experience in the B2B IT space. Having been with Alphabyte for nearly five years, Michael is an experienced and respected member of the technical team and always provides advice and resolutions for client issues in a friendly and professional way.
As a long standing Alphabyte team member, Michael is on first name terms with all our clients and they consistently tell us how happy they are with his approach, professionalism, and his help with their urgent issues.
Outside of work Michael is a dedicated family man and an accomplished photographer, specialising in landscape and astrophotography.
Luke Allan
IT Consultant
Luke is an IT consultant at Alphabyte IT. Having come from another IT Managed Service Provider, Luke has a wealth of experience in providing help, advice and solutions to businesses large and small.
Our customers love Luke’s can-do attitude to their issues and his work ethic and approach makes him an asset to the Alphabyte technical team.
Outside of work Luke has an active social life and enjoys keeping up with his friends and watching sport.
Jon Tinelli
IT Consultant
Jon is a senior IT consultant at Alphabyte IT. He has a vast experience in IT support, both in-house and external, and he provides fast and accurate technical advice and resolutions to our clients day to day issues.
Jon has been with Alphabyte for five years and is a well-known and respected member of the technical team. During this time, he’s focused on the industry move from in-house Active Directory setups to Azure and Entra ID, and he’s overseen many projects in this area to help clients move to fully-cloud solutions.
Jon works hard on his professional development and oversees many of the client projects and cloud transitions for new and existing clients.
Outside of work Jon likes to keep fit with running, hitting the gym and playing football.
Samara Jennings
IT Consultant
Samara is an IT consultant here at Alphabyte. Having started here as a customer service advisor back in 2019, Samara has progressed her way through increasingly technical roles, getting to know everything about our clients and technologies, and is now a well known and respected member of the technical team.
Our clients consistently tell us they love Samara’s can-do attitude and how she always goes the extra mile for them.
Lisa Russell
PA to the Director
Lisa is our PA to the Director and helps keep Alphabyte running smoothly with responsibility for many of the business processes here.
Having gained experience of managing her own companies in the past, and having worked at Alphabyte since 2018, Lisa is a cornerstone of the Alphabyte operation and she continues to play a major role in its successes.
Outside of work Lisa is a dedicated family woman and loves to travel.
Daisy Allen
Call Handler
Daisy is our call handler here at Alphabyte and she deals with allocating the incoming calls and tickets on behalf of our clients. Part of Daisy’s role is to prioritise inbound tickets and make sure they’re handed to the correct team member and help keep the workload balanced. This is a pivotal role and makes a huge difference to the support we’re able to offer our clients.
Daisy speaks with our inbound callers every day and our customers love how she deals with their calls empathically and urgently when needed. She has been with us helping our clients since 2021.
Outside of work Daisy enjoys going on walks and spending time in nature.
