Our managed IT service makes us your IT department. You pay one fixed monthly fee for each person we support, and it covers every question and every fix, however often your team gets in touch. It also covers the work you don’t see: monitoring, updates, backups and security, so fewer problems happen in the first place.
It costs from £45 per user per month + VAT. The exact figure depends on your headcount, any servers in your office and how your systems are set up, so we look first and then give you a fixed quote. Our agreement includes a no-obligation review period, so you can see how we work before you commit.

How support works
If an IT problem stops your business working, call us on 02920 022100. Urgent problems are typically picked up straight away, and our response times are backed by an SLA in your support agreement. There’s no call centre and no automated menu: you speak to someone on our team who knows your systems.
Most problems are fixed remotely: with your permission, an engineer connects securely to your computer, so nobody waits for a visit. When a job needs hands on, such as a network fault or a new starter’s desk, we come to you, and onsite visits are included in the monthly fee.
Our office is on Rhymney River Bridge Road in east Cardiff, close to the A48 Eastern Avenue and a short drive from the M4. You deal with the same small team every time, people like Andrew, who has been with Alphabyte for 14 years, and Jon, with us for seven.

Every system we manage is kept to the Cyber Essentials standard, the UK government-backed baseline against the most common cyber attacks, whether or not you hold the certificate.

Yes, every part of Cardiff, and onsite visits aren’t charged extra: support is unlimited by phone, remotely and onsite within the monthly fee.
IT support usually means fixing problems when something goes wrong. Managed IT services means a provider takes ongoing responsibility for your IT: support when you need it, plus monitoring, updates, backups and security in the background, for a fixed monthly fee. Our service is both.
Only if someone asks for it, and many do: UK central government asks for it (or equivalent controls) on some contracts, and many councils, larger companies and insurers ask for it. We keep every system we manage to the standard anyway, so for most of our clients the certificate is mostly paperwork. Certification support costs from £295 + VAT, plus the IASME assessment fee.
Yes. Remote support works the same wherever someone is working, and the protection we put in place, such as multi-factor authentication and anti-virus, covers laptops used at home as well as in the office.

Honest advice
If you’re a very small business with a couple of laptops and everything in Microsoft 365, a full managed service may be more than you need, and we’ll tell you so. If you already have your own IT person, co-managed IT lets us work alongside them rather than replace them.
